The launch of "Telia Mobil plånbok" provides a major opportunity for PayEx, who are behind the infrastructure that supports the market leading Swedish operator Telia’s new mobile payment service.

"We’ve waited for this moment," says Krister Fingal, CEO at PayEx. "We’ve been preparing for quite some time to be the total solution provider for any company who want to offer their customers to pay via mobile," he continues. "We expect that the market for mobile payments will increase with Telia offering a mobile wallet to its customers".

PayEx is on of Scandinavia’s leading experts in payment solutions and a pioneer in the field of mobile payment. As early as 2001, PayEx introduced innovative account solutions for mobile payments, and in 2009 PayEx launched the first complete mobile payment solution – which enabled customers to use their mobile to purchase lunch at a restaurant, goods and services over the internet or in a shop, a ticket on the bus or even a soda from a vending machine. In 2009 the mobile payment service received a "Cut the wire" award for the most innovative mobile payments solutions in the category of Bank & Finance.

How does the service work?

PayEx infrastructure is the basis for Telia Mobil plånbok. "Telia''s customers can use the wallet to pay for SMS purchase (premium SMS) and it also enables customers with company subscriptions the possibility to pay for private usage like TV "voting" and bus tickets," says Mikael Hellberg, Business Manager Mobile Payment at PayEx.

PayEx mobile payment solution allows mobile payments in all channels. The service can also be used to send money to other accounts and wallets. Customers can check their account balance, view transactions, or top up their account. All this is available in a safe and user-friendly application which easily can be downloaded to a mobile. The mobile application is developed in cooperation with Accumulate AB.

A new standard for mobile payments

“We see the agreement with Telia as a huge breakthrough for our mobile solutions and we have a close dialogue with several other major players in the Scandinavian market. We have a strong track-record in this area and our ambition is to be the leading provider of mobile payment solutions,” comments Mikael Hellberg, Business Manager Mobile Payment at PayEx.
